10:14 PM - Galeras Volcano Erupts

The Galeras Volcano, located in southwestern Columbia, erupted on the 25th, covering at least one town in ash and forcing several thousand families who had ignored earlier warnings to evacuate the area.

However, vulcanologists say that the volcano appears to be stabilizing once again, though the risk of further eruptions remains. CNN.com
